In this short film documentarian Lynne Fox examines the Hillsborough disaster of 1989 through a deeply personal lens—as the sister of one of the 96 fatalities. The Hillsborough disaster was a human crush at Hillsborough football stadium in Sheffield, U.K. on 15 April 1989, during the FA Cup semi-final soccer game between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. The resulting 96 fatalities make this the worst disaster in British sporting history. While the very public proceedings have continued to drag on for over two decades, Fox juxtaposes the public with the private, overlaying public documents with the private family photos of her brother Steven Fox, putting a human face on the disaster and creating a moving tribute of profound love and loss.

Lynne Fox is a UK-born artist. Over two decades of experience within the visual arts has helped her develop a practice that continuously reflects her interest in the representation of truth. She has a BA (Hons) in Editorial Photography from the University of Brighton, UK, studying under renowned British photographers Mark Power and Paul Reas, and graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with an MFA in Documentary Media in 2016. She is currently living in Halifax, NS, with her 9lb rescue dog, Annie and her retro camper van, Vincent.
